It's July 1st, and that means it's time for a new charity. This month is the Marine Corps - Law Enforcement Foundation, a group dedicated to providing scholarships to the children of fallen Marine Corpsmen and Federal Law Enforcement personnel. Since their inception in 1995 they've been able to award over $43 million in scholarships, and not only to children of Marines and Federal Law Enforcement. They've also contributed aid to families of Army heroes, children who lost someone in the Pentagon attack, and the kids of those who died on the space shuttle Colombia.
To find out more about this group, please click on their link. I believe it's important to help take care of the families of those who died to give us our freedom. And with Independence Day approaching, what better way to celebrate this great nation than to honor those sacrifices by looking after the families they left behind for our sake?
If you have a charity that you'd like to see supported on this blog, please let me know. Leave a comment, send me an e-mail, or shoot me a message on Twitter.
I'll be back here on Monday with a special Independence Day post! Have a great weekend.
